Summary: This paper is a first attempt in weaving an overarching Cypriot-Bulgarian narrative. Its working hypothesis is that the contemporary Cypriot-Bulgarian relationship stands on two main pillars: On one hand, is the Orthodox Christian background, and on the other, is the Socialist background. With the end of the Cold War, the Fall of Communism and the subsequent accession of both countries in the European Union, the traditions of these two socio-political currents have both served in further enhancing the relations of the two nations. Taking into consideration the cultural, diplomatic and security fronts, the paper furnishes the narrative with autobiographical stories in order to highlight the manifestation of these multifaceted relations.
